More About Dynamic Duo Cabarets

“Dynamic Duo Cabarets” is a producer duo created by a couple (literally) of Musical Theater nerds who are often found onstage or backstage, but have always dreamed of starting a career behind the table. “Dynamic Duo Cabarets” produces one-night only cabarets in New York City that give both aspiring performers and Broadway performers a space to live their dream. Producers Emily Katherine Clarke and Layla Hope Clarke met because of their mutual love for musical theater and have now made it their mission to give back to the theater community in whatever way they can, especially through these unique cabaret opportunities. 


 

THE “DYNAMIC DUO” IN QUESTION:

Emily Katherine CLarke

Emily (she/her) is a New York City based stage manager. Her most recent credits include: High Spirits (New York City Center), High Society (Ogunquit Playhouse), Cellino V. Barnes (Asylum Theater), and Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors (New World Stages). She has also been involved in many developmental workshops of new musicals such as Just In Time, Begin Again, and The Lunchbox. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Design, Technology, and Management (with a concentration in Stage Management) from Wagner College. When it comes to Emily's involvement in Dynamic Duo Cabarets, she has a natural knack for casting, creative directing, and social media promotion. You already know that if Emily's involved, each show is as organized as can be-- color-coded spreadsheets & all. 

Layla Hope Clarke

Layla (she/they) is a triple-threat actress here in New York City. When she's not producing her own, she can most often be found singing in cabarets all over the city at iconic venues like 54 Below, Green Room 42, and Don't Tell Mama. Layla specializes in children's theater, most recently performing on The Polar Express Train Ride with Rail Event Productions & The Warner Bros. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from The New School/AMDA. Aside from being onstage, Layla has experience in music arranging, which earns her the role of Assistant Music Director for many of Dynamic Duo Cabarets shows. In addition to that, Layla not only creative directs alongside Emily, but also takes the stage, often performing a number of her own.
